I have a strong memory of a book I read as a child in the 1990s / it had Shirley Hughes vibes in the illustrations, very cosy, and wondered if anyone can help me remember the title! It’s driving me mad!
It takes place over advent – a child makes a Christmas wreath with four candles and every Sunday lights one of them and leaves it shining in the window. I think they also help make mincemeat and also hang out with a neighbouring family who give them some sweets for Diwali.
Any suggestions? Would love to rediscover this story with my own daughter now
