I’m a 13 year old girl who reads a lot of romance. I am currently reading “The Midnight Library” and “Mockingbird.” I am also reading the Emily Windsnap series. I don’t like any spice and I don’t want to start with super high stakes. I want to try fantasy so if you have suggestions for a first fantasy please let me know.

Mistborn is likely right up your alley!
Anything and everything Tamora Pierce!!! She’s my fave. The early Circle of Magic books will feel too young for you, but the later ones won’t! And all of Tortall should feel right!
Maybe The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima
I would recommend The Girl Who Drank the Moon for an easy, quick, but beautiful read without “save the universe” stakes. You have to make it to the third book for it to really take hold, but the His Dark Materials trilogy has a beautiful young adult romance. I think City of Bones or any work by Cassandra Clare might be a good fit, as it’s a nice blend of romance and fantasy, although it does run with the drama.
