I've enjoyed krakauer (also enjoyed boukreevs version of the everest disaster) and recently read endurance by lansing. Would like to read something with a similar vibe of adventure/threat.
If you like that mix of survival and psychological tension, you might actually enjoy The Last Switch by Khalid Muhammed. It’s not a mountain adventure, but it has that same pulse of danger — only this time the terrain is the human mind. It starts with a mysterious energy experiment gone wrong, and the deeper it goes, the more it feels like a descent into an unknown world where technology and humanity blur. It’s one of those stories that feels both vast and claustrophobic at once — like climbing, but inside your own head.
