Hi all! I have been getting mixed reviews about the english version this book. I am looking for a dense and difficult read within the mystery/psychological/thriller genres.
I came across this book but have heard can be unnecessarily difficult to read and that the author seems like a "know it all" just trying to prove his intellectual depth that ruins the ability to enjoy or finish the book. Some of course said they feel it is a brilliant novel but they already had previous knowledge of the historical era (the Catholic/latin aspects of the book) so they feel that was a big part of why they could enjoy and finish the book.
Is there anyone who has read this book without prior knowledge of that era that can tell me what they thought of it? please no spoilers though!
does anyone have suggestions for other books that are similar but possibly a better choice?
