I’m looking for book recommendations that capture male yearning, basically a story where a man is so deeply and helplessly in love that it consumes him entirely. Something with the same intensity as Edward in Twilight… or even more, maybe unrequited love like the book “love in the time of cholera.”

I’m open to different genres; fantasy, horror, thriller, as long as there’s a strong romantic thread and that raw, almost desperate devotion at the center of it.

    thank you!

I didn’t like love in a time of cholera, the main character is a degenerate and a rapist. He’s very similar to Humbert in Lolita (this is my opinion).

There’s Atonement by Ian McEwan although the POV is from a female MC, there are scenes from the POV of one of the male leads (not going to give spoilers, but the relationship and love he has for the sister of the female MC is emphasized).

There’s the Remains of Day by Kuzuo Ishiguro it’s from a male POV where he looks back on his life as a butler and reminisces about the love for a woman he used to have.
