I have some on the spectrum coworkers. I've been the default communicator for the team, likely due to my experience working with autistic children and the other members don't want to be a mediator and headbutting. Though the techniques I use work, I think there's room for improvement. I dont want to always default into "teacher mode" if I can help it, as everyone here are adults in a professional setting.

Anything with scripts or possible examples would be very helpful. Thank you.

Is This Autism? By Donna Henderson et al. is my go-to for better informing folks about all the nuances of autism, especially as it shows up in adults who have often flown under the radar. It’s not just about communication, but about the lived autistic experience as a whole, with lots of real-person examples. Understanding more about alllllllll the ways autism affects people has made the biggest difference in my day to day communications across neurotypes!

And it’s not a book per se, but Dr. Megan Anna Neff is another fantastic resource. She has a beautiful online guide on cross-neurotype communication that goes through a lot of the key concepts that can make an impact, like understanding the double empathy problem: https://neurodivergentinsights.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/NeurodiverseCommunicationPDF.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOooD-jXkwJ2EXvdP50Mnr_MqZB7Y7UIVpB2X3OjrzlqmK9i6kb5h
