I'm asking because although I only read their books in class, I'm very interested in the books of Charles Dickens and John Steinbeck, as well as Upton Sinclair who I have yet to read, on their focus on social injustices and having strong criticisms for their respective societies while centring their stories through the eyes of the working class within their settings
Because of this, I was wondering if there are any fiction books which carry on this legacy into the 21st or late 20th century, which focus on the issues of poverty from the perspective of the working class? Which author has carried on this legacy into today's society?
