Looking for suggestions for one of those great “coming of age”, young adult fiction books that are written for young adults but can be enjoyed by anyone really. It’s such a fascinating time of our lives, and we each remember how momentous those late teenage years were, so I find it really enjoyable to read about it!

I love A.S. King for coming of age books.
The Pellinor series by Alison Croggon.
Four books, high fantasy, LOTR vibes but more coming of age as well as questing with sword and sorcery. Hands down my favourite young adult book and still re read them now as a thirty something 🙂
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle
*The Outsiders* by SE Hinton
I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter is excellent. Great story, relatable characters, and superb writing.
The Outsiders is a classic, and is also shorter.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
The Power of One by Bryce Courtney
I have been wanting to reread the Adrian Mole series. I found them so funny many decades ago. ◡̈
Anne of green gables
Little woman
The Pigman
Catcher and the Rye.
Fairy Tale by Stephen King. No horror or gore, and it’s told in first person by the teen main character, so you know he lived!
