Need a short fun/hard hitting fantasy or fiction standalone book.

I’m in limbo waiting for the release of the last Suneater book and Strength of the Few. Looking for something short (400 or less pages) that’s a standalone book. I prefer fantasy and some scifi, but any fiction is fine.
