Anyone have any recommendations for any extreme horror books? Can be with or without gore, just want something to unnerve me. I’ve read The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum and really liked it. I’ve picked up Cows by Matthew Stokoe and haven’t had the chance to read it. I’m thinking about buying Hogg by Samuel Delany.

Otherwise maybe *Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian*, not traditional horror, but very extreme and unnerving.
And I’ve never read *The Obscene Bird of Night by José Donoso*, but it’s on my shelf and is supposed to be a really unnerving book.
