Trying to get back into my old hobby of reading, I used to read a lot when I was younger before depression, mostly fantasy. Throw anything at me, romance, fantasy, horror, anything.
Tell me about your favorites, or ones you think don’t get enough love. Give me your suggestions, I’m open to anything you all have. I was unsure of what tags to use so I chose nonfiction but it doesn’t have to strictly be that

For fantasy, I’d say that any books by Lois McMaster Bujold, Michelle West, and Guy Gavriel Kay don’t get enough love. All three writers have had a fair amount of success, but given how good they are, they should have way, way more readers. Steven King is still good. For medieval mysteries, Margaret Frazer is a lot of fun–either her Dame Frevisse or Player Joliffe mysteries. Lindsey Davis has two sets of novels set in Rome that are 1) hilarious and 2) romantic–dramas but with real relationships and the comedy of life. I’ve been enjoying a lot of the living history books about medieval Europe.
What really helped me is listening to audiobooks, before sleep, during my commute, grocery shopping etc. Harry Potter, Emily Wilde Series, The Spellshop. All cozy, low stakes, no romance, comforting.
