Nonfiction I can read outloud to my brainiac nine year old
My kiddo is super into all things science. We just finished a hefty book on the immune system and he loved it.
He reads kids nonfiction himself, I’m looking for adult level but kid appropriate books.
Neil Degrasse (sp?) has books of essays. They’re easy to read and understand. Intended for adults with a standard education.

Gory Details by Erika Engelhaupt. I can’t remember if everything in this book is child friendly, so you may want to skim a section before reading it aloud, but I can’t remember any specific examples.
