hello all. im trying to get into reading, maybe i’d like to start with literary fiction? or idk something related to feminism?
i havent read a lot of books, but lately i’ve realized i should. i want to improve my vocabulary and broaden my perspective. up till now, bc of my short attention span, i’ve mostly read romance webcomics (kind of embarrassing to admit💀)

Webcomics are awesome!
I recommend starting in YA as they are made for people with short attention spans. Are you looking for romance, sci-fi, fantasy?
However, You said literary fiction so I recommend The Painted Veil by Somerset Maugham. It’s a very readable classic. There is so much tea.
I love romance webtoons. Want to See My Cat? is probably one of my favorite things I’ve ever read and I read a ton of books.
If attention span is an issue, start with a short story collection. L.M. Montgomery wrote at least a hundred short stories, most of which are lightly romantic in the late 1800s/early 1900s. Most of them are available on project gutenberg.
I also recommend “All Creatures Great and Small” which is a novel, but each chapter reads like a short story. It is truly one of the best written books I’ve ever come across and I would have thought I would have been about the last person interested in reading a fictionalized memoir of a rural vet in the 1940s, but again, the writing is so good that you’re pulled along and before you know it, you’re up at 3 in the morning wondering how on earth he’s going to get that calf birthed.
Anyway, best of luck on your reading journey!
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison or Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo
