My brother recently told our mom he wants to read more and I’m so excited! I want to put together a book box for him for Christmas. Some books he mentioned to our mom were: 1984 (which I have already), The Guns of John Moses Browning, and The Godfather. I would like to put some nice leather bookmarks in it and the books listed above plus maybe two more that he might enjoy. For context, he’s 24 years old. He’s pretty no nonsense in a lot of ways, but also open minded. I was thinking he might enjoy Fear and Loathing. Anyone have any suggestions for some other books I can get him? Or anything else to add to the book box?

    1. If he’s into nonfiction like *The Guns of John Moses Browning*, he might like some Erik Larson — *The Devil in the White City* could be good, or even *Dead Wake.* Or maybe *Flyboys* by James Bradley?

For classics, maybe some John Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut, Ernest Hemingway, or *Brave New World* by Aldous Huxley to pair with *1984*? Or *Animal Farm* if he’d be interested in more Orwell?

It sounds like he might also enjoy some books that were also classic movies — *The Shining*, *To Kill a Mockingbird*, *One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest*, or *Jurassic Park*?
