I recently read Kaputt by Curzio Malaparte and it completely stuck with me. His raw and surreal style is unlike anything else.
I am looking for other books that have that same power to disturb and mesmerize. I want something that captures the dark and complex parts of human nature, maybe with a historical or political background.
Can anyone recommend literature that does not shy away from the unsettling and the real? Thank you.
