I’m going to kick off 2026 with Lonesome Dove.
So far I’ve really enjoyed every book I’ve read based on this sub and it’s made my TBR pile even more unmanageable.
As Meat Loves Salt by Maria McCann – loved it!
97 Orchard: An Edible History of Five Immigrant Families in One New York Tenement by Jane Ziegelman – really well researched and interesting.
An Instance of the Fingerpost by Iain Pears – I’m about 80 percent of the way through and really enjoying it.
This sub also convinced me to start reading The Power Broker by Robert Caro that had been on my TBR far too long and it’s so fascinating.
Dungeon Crawler Carl. I resisted for a long time, I didn’t think it was for me. It is.
*Before the Coffee Gets Cold*
Project Hail Mary. It was so much praised around here that I gave up and don’t regret it a bit. First time that I like something that is hyped this much. Not that all hyped things are bad but I’m usually disappointed when I get to read/watch them. This book was not the case. It is indeed great!
