I had a brief connection with someone living in Paris some time ago, but unfortunately things didn’t go very well because I live in a different place. I’m looking for a book that I could read first and potentially send anonymously so that the story itself might make her:
1. Pause and reflect on our brief connection
2. Feel curiosity about the person behind the gesture
3. Think, subtly, “what if he was the one?”
I’m looking for something:
• Thoughtful, reflective, and not overly romantic or dramatic
• Able to communicate a fleeting but meaningful connection without any notes or explanation
• Intelligent, poetic, or emotionally resonant
• Ideally not too long, but powerful enough to leave a lasting impression
Classics, contemporary novels, or short story collections are all welcome. I want the book to carry the message itself, without me saying anything.
