I am a mid 20s girl looking for either fantasy, historical fiction, or history books. I have recently and previously enjoyed L.M. Montgomery, Game of Thrones, The Outsiders, Wrinkle in Time, Eva Ibbotson books, Little Women, Agatha Christie, Tina Fey’s Bossypants, Rudyard Kipling (especially Kotick the White Seal), Michelle Obama’s Becoming, My Family and Other Animals, and of course things like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I enjoy complete world building that takes me out of my daily life. I would like to advance my reading to an “adult” level but find children’s books frequently to be better written adult books without drugs and sex (though I enjoy well written romance). I like charm, magic, and warmth. I have a propensity to read series all the way through. I weirdly never got super into Jane Austen, though I feel like that’s the ideal rec for someone like me. I tried to read People We Meet on Vacation and honestly found it really cringey. This is the same problem I have for many modern books. I do like short stories. Any suggestions welcome!

    1. I would suggest The Gods are Bastards, though I do really like the series so I recommend it a lot. First book’s on Kindle, rest are currently on Royal Road and the author’s site.
