Deciding between whether I should start reading IT and Pet Semetary or just go to Illiad & Odyssey in preparation for the movie next year. What do u guys think
those are pretty different so it just depends more on what your feeling

The Iliad and the Odyssey are both great books. There are excellent prose translations by Rouse, if you don’t feel like reading them in verse.

You can’t come up with a bad choice there. It is interesting to read the really old stuff because it’s the genesis of a lot of the tropes that get reused by authors everywhere, so I could understand leaning into Homer.
But Steven King has a mix of original stories and his own takes on classics like witches and vampires, plus some that aren’t scary (The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile were both his).
You don’t have a wrong answer to the question you’re asking there.

Stephen King sounds like a lot more fun.
