I just found out I didn’t pass a major exam I spent the whole year studying for, and it hit way harder than I expected. I’m trying to stay positive, but I’ve honestly spent the last couple of days crying and feeling pretty defeated. I’m taking a short break before I start studying again, and I want to use the time to read something that might lift me up a bit.
If you’ve been through a setback like this, what books helped you get your mindset back on track? I’m open to anything as long as it’s actually encouraging and not super cheesy.

honestly i recommend “atomic habits” by james clear.. not cheesy at all and actually changed how i approached stuff after i bombed my chem final last semester.
First, I’m very sorry to hear this, but please do hang in there. I’ve taught and advised university students for 15 years. One of my key takeaways is that the bouncing back is not only very possible/probable/likely, but that it’s so damn satisfying. A couple nonfiction reads I might suggest:
*Rising Strong* by Brené Brown
*Educated* by Tara Westover
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
