Background-Book2801 on November 12, 2025 2:39 am Ohh – it’s a beautiful but tough read but The Bone People by Keri Hulme. The lead character is the definition of that. Margaret Laurence’s The Stone Angel. Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace, based on a true story about an accused murderer. Thackeray’s Vanity Fair – Becky Sharpe is the prototype “love to hate her” character. There are so many but these are the ones that popped in my mind first.
