I have been reading consistently since my early 20s, but I usually only read classics, or at least books that are well established in their respective genres. I would like to start reading books that interest me as they come out, but I don't know where people find out about new releases. I know lots of places to find out about new music releases and videogames, for example, but not books. Can anyone recommend me sites or newsletters etc?

Some of my favorite books in case there are genre-specific resources:

    • The Green Mile by Stephen King (my favorite book)
    • Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo
    • Company by Max Berry
    • Hyperion by Dan Simmons
    • Play it Loud by Alan di Perna (I'm interested in basically any music history book)
    • Cities of the Red Night by William S. Burroughs
    • House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski
    • Up Country by Alden R Carter
    • Maus by Art Spielgelman
    • Sandman by Neil Gaiman
    • Small Gods by Terry Pratchett

Oh man I zoned out there for a moment, this could have gone on a while. That was fun listing a bunch, though 🙂 thanks in

I usually find new books on a bookstore’s website. There’s usually a page that shows new releases or coming soon books

      – booktubers post their anticipated releases

      – goodreads lists

      – goodreads profile of authors I like

      – book riot

      – just googling “[genre] book releases [year]”

      – browsing the websites/instagram pages for book of the month or other subscription boxes

    3. I usually don´t, I know some people that like the same authors as I do so sometimes they would tell me. Other that that I´m not worried for new releases. At the end of the year I pay attention to “best of the year content” but I usually don´t read them.
