Every general suggestion I get is a book with a similar plot or similar premise. I don't exactly mind reading about something similar in that way but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something that feels like it or is written a similar way. I like that drawn out process where the beginning is really hard to get through but it ends up developing the character and it gives me a lot to chew on. In general I also like the fact that it's kind of passive and depending on my mood I can take it at face value then let it stick with me or I can take it at high interest and I'm not constantly watching a scene happen/being told what to see when something does happen. I like the idea of unreliable narrator and how everything is up to interpretation and at the same time it's actually specific and it doesn't go in circles. I like how sometimes the narrator makes me angry or another character makes me angry but it's not ragebait, every little thing makes me feel something.
The discussions of this book are amazing but the book itself feels like a rabbit hole.
Please give me any recommendations or point me towards a certain genre where this happens often.
I tried her other books but either the premise doesn't sound good to me or they haven't caught my attention past 30 pages.
