Hi
I'm 24 years old and I never read a fantasy book completely.
I started game of thrones and lord of the rings but both were not my thing.
So no classics please maybe with a female character but not romantasy.
Different vibes, none have Big Guy Energy, many are children’s or old school YA cause that’s my taste, most are the first in a series, mix of new and old:
Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey
Dealing with Dragons by Patricia Wrede / Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
The Golden Compass/Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman
Sabriel by Garth Nix
Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones / Drowned Ammet by Diana Wynne Jones (not female protagonist)
The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke (not female protagonist)
The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
Among Others by Jo Walton
The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle (closest to Guy Energy but in a melancholy and poetic way)
Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
