as the title suggests i’m looking to read again. i’m recovering from surgery and have rotted for three weeks and overall have rotted from my phone and social media for years now. i haven’t read seriously since i was a kid, in school, and i also dabbled a few years ago but it failed to stick. i’ve read and enjoyed kurt vonnegut, i loved dandelion wine by ray bradbury, a curious incident of a dog in the nighttime was great. i’m trying to honestly avoid anything super dystopian or political for obvious reasons (i am surrounded by it and drained from it) and im not looking for anything super long either. manageable if you will. not a huge nonfiction person either fiction is best
thank you!

Both those books are a bit on the gray side – is that still what you’re looking for? A good fantasy option might be the Blade Itself which is grimdark but purely fiction
Liane Moriarty is a gripping, fun read usually, imo. The Husband’s Secret has a little bit of mystery, is literary but still pacy and quite overall a good read. Do you like any specific genres?
