Heroine is named Vicky (or Vicki), lives in England and works as a secretary for the hero. He seduces her and asks her to marry him, but later reveals he only did it for revenge.
He believes she went on holiday, seduced his uncle and stole his money, leaving the uncle ruined. Vicky is devastated and insists she’s never even been away and hasn’t lied.
It eventually turns out that the real culprit was her stepmother, Vera, who looks very similar to Vicky (same body type and hair). Vera impersonated Vicky, seduced the uncle and ran off with another man and the uncle’s money.
When the truth comes out, the uncle tells the hero, and the hero realises he’s misjudged Vicky and tries to marry her / win her back.
