    hi, i’m looking for a book about The Troubles that goes into detail about the conflict and follows a large period of time leading up to it through the aftermath. i really loved The Rape of Nanking by iris chang and i’m looking for a book that has a similar level of depth, research, and historical context.

Armed Struggle by Richard English gives you the IRA perspective with academic rigor, and Lost Lives compiles every single death from the Troubles with context. Say Nothing hits that narrative nonfiction sweet spot like Iris Chang’s work tho
