I’m looking for Christmas/holiday books that are light hearted and romantic but WONT make me want to die from how stupid it is. I feel like I cannot get through any of them because the plot or characters are so outrageous and corny.
“The French for Christmas” by Fiona Valpy is sweet and enjoyable. It’s not groundbreaking literature but it won’t insult your intelligence either.
I just looked this up and apparently they changed the title to “The Recipe for Hope” which IMO is kind of corny but it’s the same book.

I mean, it’s not romantic, but you really can’t go wrong with David Sedaris’s Holidays on Ice. Highly recommend listening to the audiobook because he’s really a pro at reading his own work and it’s even funnier.
