I feel as if I see many of the same books recommended online. That's not a criticism, some of my favourite books were ones I discovered on this sub (Piranesi, I Who Have Never Known Men, Lonesome Dove).
But now my TBR is quite bloated with popular picks and I want to give some love to smaller authors, lesser-known titles, or forgotten classics. What book did you love but have never seen anyone talking about?

People of Paper by Salvador Plascencia
Disturbances in the Field by Lynne Sharon Schwartz. You’ll have to buy a used copy as it’s out of print. It’s about a woman’s peaceful, placid life as she grows up, and then suddenly in the middle, her life is shockingly changed. It is one of the best written books I have ever read.
Clockwork Dynasty by Daniel H Wilson
The Bear by Andrew Krivak
Theo of Golden – Allen Levi
The Death of Vivek Oji – takes place in Nigeria and focuses on gender issues…I really loved this one.
The Devourers by Indrapramit Dos
Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah
The Dog Stars by Peter Heller had its moment, but I love his other works: The River was really good, and Celine was an interesting story that blended a lot of elements.
Lonesome dove
_The Rehearsal_, by Eleanor Catton. Debut novel, really rich characters and just enough explanation of what’s going on to keep you guessing without making you throw up your hands in confusion. One of the most playful books I’ve read in a very long time.
