Looking for hopefully a series of books, but standalones will do too, think loveable rogues doing naughty things in a vast universe/solar system just to survive, fun adventures, close calls and twists.

    Anyone got any recommendations?

It’s more than a bit dated now, but have you read any of the Stainless Steel Rat books by Harry Harrison?

    2. The Dune books are great, but they can get a bit heavy. Also, The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and Artemis

    3. The Finder Chronicles, your description fits really well for this series.

The Bobiverse series is definitely a guy on an adventure, but possibly not lighthearted enough.

The Jacques McKeown series by Yahtzee Croshaw. An unemployed star pilot tries to get by in a universe where transporters are a thing. The first book in the series is Will save the galaxy for food.

The Wayfarer series by Becky Chambers. It’s such good SciFi. Just started the MurderBot series and it was pretty funny.

Maybe a niche opinion, but I think the Murderbot Diaries fits your ask. Rogue robot, getting itself into trouble, moving quickly from one disaster t another, while enjoying bad serial tv.
