I loved Beartown, The Secret History, and The Gods of the Woods because they tell you the big reveal at the beginning and then go back in time to tell you everything that lead up to that big moment.
Do y’all have any recs for books with a similar format/layout?

I don’t have a specific title in mind, but you might want to check out some historical fiction too–where you already know the historical outcome it’s building up to, but the fictitious details in between are unknown.
He seven moons of Maali Almeida does this. Murder mystery. The mc is the ghost of the victim who finds himself in limbo having to work out how he died before he can move on
The Wheel of Time series. The first books prologue is a mind bending spoiler that takes several books to fully understand.
Finish the Beartown series. I can’t remember if the 2nd one does that but The Winners reveals something important at the beginning and it absolutely adds to the tension throughout the book. Plus the book is just amazing overall.
