So recently I have not been reading as I am focused on certain things irl. After Christmas though, things will cool down which is why I want to pick up a good book again. I am in love with fantasy and sci fi, even though recently I have leaned more towards sci fi. I read all 6 dune books and enjoyed those (besides the last 2 which were getting a bit weak in terms of writing) and also read the first three books of the culture series. I definitely enjoy sci fi which is a bit more creative instead of just pew pew action (that is covered a lot of times by my fantasy books that I read)
Fantasy was my big thing but as I noted recently I haven't really found anything captivating. My favourite book series is the witcher, I enjoyed (but never finished) the stormlight series, have also enjoyed books written by women such as the black magician series (plus I am a sucker for romance sideplots), read 12 of the wheel of time books before putting them down and have read LoTR.
I don't really care if the series is older or newer, the one thing I wouldn't like is a non finished book series like Patrick Rotfuß's series about Kvothe, heavily dislike that.
Am open for any suggestion! Have heard that the Foundation series is a good sci fi novel, but haven't really looked into that one yet. Any other suggestions regarding fantasy or sci fi novels?

A couple of standalone recs:
Kurt Vonnegut’s The Sirens of Titan (scifi)
Hannes Bok’s Beyond the Golden Stair (fantasy)
The Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons is really great sci-fi. Pretty much what got me into the genre.
Check out A. G. Riddle for sci-fi. Lost in Time and Winter World are two that come to mind.
