Im not sure if goth describes it well, but examples include Rachel Gilligs series The Knight and the Moth and One Dark Window. I absolutely loved them, ate them up.
I love historical settings and do not really like modern settings.
I would prefer adult series but young adult is okay. I do not like an enormous amount of smut/it being overdone either. I think Gillig did a pretty good job.
I also loved the Once Upon a Broken Heart series and The Cruel Prince series even though it isnt goth/dark, so I like stuff like that too.
