My dad loved little women in high school, and enjoys romcom movies & period pieces (he doesn't say that but if I'm ever watching them on the family tv he joins in lol). He also liked the House of Guinneas on netflix. I want to get him a book as a Christmas present, but a lot of the books typically recomended for men or fathers i don't think he'd like.
He's a practicing Christian (seventh day adventist to be specific) so I'd want to get him something that fits with his values & was thinking of maybe getting a classic.
He also loves farming & grew up on a farm in Ireland with a pretty big family. When he was younger he used to read religious & classic books to his brother most nights. He works as a nurse for the NHS, if that helps anyone.
I don't think he'd enjoy any fantasy / scifi or modern horror /romance. Either fiction or nonfiction's good, just nothing too dense or intimidating. Probably a focus on family might be good too? I read The Bee Sting recently and if it was shorter I might have bought him that.
I'm grateful for any suggestions if people have them, thanks guys

Small things like these is a short book about a father and factory manager who realises girls living in a local convent might be having more of a tough time than anyone else seems to suspect/ care about. So it’s a little heavy but really beautifully written and readable and relatable.
