need books about animals !!

i desperately want to read a book about animal allegories/metaphors. i adore watership down, 15 dogs, and animal farm so much they are some of my favourite books ever. and honestly i’ve always loved an animal book like some of my favourites growing up were the incredible journey (i talk about this book so much omg) and black beauty. and winnie the pooh is my weakness i will buy anything winnie the pooh themed. was just reading a short story about horses (the united states presidents were reincarnated as horses for some reason?) and was reminded how much i love this genre. i just love an animal metaphor they really stick in my brain. i talk about watership down so much like anyone that knows me has heard me talk about that book. same with 15 dogs, ive made so many people read that and i just think about it all the time. i actually wrote an essay about it last semester even like that book is definitely top ten for me. that was actually also the reason i liked of mice and men so much too now that i think about it. but i’m thinking more like animals that have human brains and make you think about human nature, like 15 dogs is the blueprint here but i’ve never read another book like it. that does anyone have some good suggestions?
