Name me some nerdy fiction that you couldn’t put down

I have to read lots of "serious" books for uni, so sometimes to wind down I wish to read some purely entertaining fiction. For example I recently read Rohan's Winter of the world series and Lucano's Darth Plague where I constantly needed to keep reading to always know what happened next. What kept you hooked?
