Hello all, haven’t read for fun in a while and want a book that’ll pull me back in. I like both fiction and nonfiction as long as it’s thought-provoking, not fluffy. Ideally something character-driven, reflective, or that teaches me something real.
Anyone have suggestions?
If it helps: I am in my mid 20s, and I want something that will make me feel like my brain is actually being used again, but that I can still get into after long days when my attention span is not at its best.

Kurt Vonnegut for my money is the king of “thought provoking and reflective, but can be read even when the brain is fried.”
I’d say look at *The Sirens of Titan* and/or *Mother Night*. Not all of his works are terribly character-driven, but these two have more of it than most of his others.

Vonnegut is a good call. 3 Body Problem is a pretty thought provoking story. One season of a TV series so far.
