As the title says, I’m looking for authors who excel in plot-driven page turners that are fast paced and relatively easy to read, ideally from the late 70s to early 00s. I’m a big Stephen King fan, so I’m looking for anything along those lines – not necessarily horror (I’m aware of Dean Koontz etc) but more along the lines of Grisham or Crichton. I guess “airport thriller” is the term I’m looking for.

If you like audiobooks, I highly recommend *The Dispatcher* series by John Scalzi. There are three of them and they’re each short (2-3 hours).
Robert Crais
Michael Connelly
Lee Child, Harlan Coben, Gillian Flynn, and Michael Connelly are among my parents’ favorites in the thriller genre.
His work isn’t from the 70s-00s but Blake Crouch fits the bill.
