Summary-
Wren gets the opportunity of a lifetime, a a chance to compete in this biggest, most dangerous, cooking competition if the multi-verse.
The only rule that she has to follow, no fraternization with the other contestants. Anything else goes. Should be easy.
Well, turns out an almost fling is her competition and they just can’t seem to keep their hands off each other.
Will her dishes stand out? Will she survive her lethal competition? Or will she get booted for playing footsie with the big hunk of being we call Throm?
Review-
I liked it. I have really been craving a cookie competition storyline and this is it.
My favorite part is that we actually follow along with the competition for each stage.
I read a book not to long ago about a dating competition but the aflame ended quickly and kinda left wanting more.
I definitely wanted more here too but in the good way. I will be making my way through this series. Looks like it’s a different couple, and entirely different storyline for each. my favorite kind of series.
I’m assuming this series is “Risda-verse” style. We are telling the story that is happening right now. So the plot revolves around this, with a bit of a nod to deeper storylines in the past or future.
"Spoilers, Spoilers" – River Song
*The following is an open discussion about the book. Details will be discussed here and in the comments. If that's not for you, this is where we part.
Hey, if you are reading this I don't want to hear "but spoilers", you had ample warning. lol
Okay, let’s get into it.
This no fraternization rule is so strange, I get it was a plot device but I treat all books as though they are reality and what where the show runners thinking.
Fraternization would build more intrigue and potentially tie drama especially if people are splishing and splashing around. Plus people that relationship drama so in surprised that was a hard no for them but “literally” killing each other is okay.
I did like that we followed up with the “people don’t actually die” because I also thought that was bad for business. lol
Who wants to sign up for a show that will kill off all the contestants? I don’t even think the fame or fortune is worth that. Adventure? Sure. Heart palpitating danger? Sure. Literal death? Nah. What are we doing?
And let’s talk about that pink psychopath. What his deal? lol he needs his butt whooped.
Speaking of – Omyn – he needs a chill pill. I personally would rather win because of my cookie skills. Winning because you offed everyone isn’t really a win. You’d think someone so honor bound would see it the same way.
I was annoyed they brought him back for the final challenge. That all for nothing, just to throw a fit and lose anyway. But I did like how they decided to split the prize up. I was thinking “why doesn’t he take the money and she take the catering” – because he needs the money and she needs the notoriety. So I am glad they got that and much more.
