Wanting to gift a book to someone recently retired who is traveling the globe and trying to visit every country.
He particularly enjoys juicy and surprising “untold” stories – either about individuals with fascinating lives, or about historical events.
Maybe a memoir or nonfiction account of a traveler who had a fascinating experience… or some historical/political event that impacted travel in some way… or the untold story of a facet of tourism… or anything specific to Japan or Chile as he visited there recently.
Whatever the topic, something with enough exciting twists and turns that he can say “I’m reading this book about X topic, and you’ll never believe what happened…”
Thanks in advance if anyone has any recommendations!
