This question came up, and it got me thinking. If you had to live in a fictional world from a book, which would you pick? This is not assuming you're the hero/heroine of the story, but that you are just an inhabitant of the world within the context of the book.
I'm thinking fantasy would be fun, but that so often comes with an evil power in the world as well… Thoughts?

1984. That way i would at least get a job.
Harry Potter
Middle Earth – Lord of the Rings. Pretty chilled place mostly minus all that Sauron mess.
Sprawl/Chiba/Freeside – Neuromancer. Cool body mods.
I would have to go with the Wizarding World. Every bit of that world seems magical and fun, where even the smallest thing have a life of its own.
But the place I would like to visit the most – just as a tourist – would be Mievilles Bas-Lag world
The Culture sounds nice (I’m only up to book 4)
Brave new world, having infinite sex and drugs doesn’t sound so bad nowadays
The Culture from Iain M Banks’ Sci-fi novels. Mostly for the freedom from work and having to be in a human body.
Twilight. Love to be a Vampire 😄
Midworld would be pretty wild! Can’t say it would be very pleasant, though
Erewhon.
One hundred years of solitude
A nice orbital in the Culture, and I dare any of you to come up with a better fictional place to live.
Star Trek has books, so that one.
