The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones- it’s mainstream in that it’s traditionally published but it’s so different than anything I’ve ever read before. Top knotch writing. Horror, Thriller, Native American history, some supernatural.

Episode Thirteen by Craig DiLouie, Intercepts by TJ Payne, The Exorcist’s House by Nick Roberts, BETA: A Technological Nightmare by Sammy Scott, The Haar by David Sodergren

Get Tom’s Crossing, just out. He probably won’t have it, but he’ll have heard of the author, and the reviews are great.

When The Wolf Comes Home- Nat Cassidy, he also wrote a book called Mary that was pretty good
The Last House on Needless Street- Catriona Ward
The Girl Next Door- Jack Ketchum

    6. A fabulous addition to his horror book collection would be The Strange Library by Haruki Murakami! Here is a short description:

The story of a lonely boy, a mysterious girl, and a tormented sheep man plotting their escape from a nightmarish library, the book is like nothing else Murakami has written.

you could stop trying to find a book he hasnt read and instead go for a fancy version of a book he probably has read. Frankenstein wpuld be a good place to start the search
