The Zorro books, The Count of Monte Cristo, Crime and Punishment except I read it again recently… And many more.
I remember nothing. A lot of it comes back to me when I read them again but a lot doesn't.
It's odd when someone asks me if I've read a certain book, because yes, but may as well be a no.
This is normal right? I'm 38 and have been an avid reader my whole life.

All of them.
Open up one of those books again and just glance through a few pages. Much will come back. It’s deposited in the brain, we just need a trigger to retrieve it.
I tend to forget books that were just okay. Decently written, didn’t hate it, but didn’t care much about it either.
I usually remember smaller scenes from books (like the horse in Crime and Punishment) but there are plenty where I would struggle to properly recount the plot without a quick skim to remind me.
This happens to me with TV shows. And the ones that I really liked at that. I think it’s because we remember the feel of the novel more than the plot itself. I read Norwegian Wood and I know it was pretty dark, but I’ve forgotten many details, for my own peace of mind
if you’ve completely forgotten them how would you know how many there were
When I got divorced I was in a very bad place thst I couldn’t find a way out of.
I had no place to take my books and donated several truck loads to the local bookstores. Counted over 2000 before I stopped caring.
Everyone one of them read at least once.
I cannot even remember all the titles. I prefer long series which makes it a little easier for some of those..
I have continued to be an avid reader every since and that was over 15 years ago.
