I only got into reading regularly a few years ago. I wish I had gotten into it sooner because it’s such an overwhelming experience looking into it, figuring out what I like, deciding where to go next. I have so many interests in so many different topics.

I am the type of person to get into something, obsess over it for a good couple months, then it gets dropped and I’m onto the next thing. I still have interest in whatever it may be, but my new interest takes priority.

It started for me after I finally decided to watch Game of Thrones. I loved the series so much, I wanted to learn everything I could, which lead me to start reading the books. I got through the first 4 books before my interest was taken by another hobby.

It wasn’t until about 3 years ago when I was gifted the lord of the rings that I really thought about reading again. So I spent all my spare time reading them, until I finished the second book and I felt like I wanted to read something else. I was given a couple of Jack Reacher books, and I started buying books that caught my interest. Now I read pretty consistently, and this is where my problem starts.

I feel like I’m always lead to the basic “trendy” books when I’m searching for stuff to read. I’m always drawn to fantasy books but I’d like to read more classics, I’m just not sure where to look.

I have asked my mum for some Stephen king books for Christmas, who else should I look into? I’m not specific on genre, hopefully your suggestions will take me to a place I didn’t know that I liked. Thanks.
