I have recently read and enjoyed Katabasis, Stoner, Frankenstein, The Name of the Rose, and The Glass Bead Game.
As someone interested in academia and who loved solving puzzles growing up, and the inherently intellectually curious nature of research, I want something that captures this.
Spending the rest of my years away in an infinite library not unlike the Library of Babel sounds like to paradise to me.
I would prefer if recommendations were literary fiction, but anything that captures this theme is fine.
