      (1) Invisible City and (2) Conviction, both by Julia Dahl, are some of the most vivid, sensory and cultural depictions of NYC I have read in years. They’re mysteries. The young 20s female main character didn’t grow up in the city but moved there to work as a reporter. Additional bonus is her exploration of the little-known ultra-Orthodox Jewish community. Very well written!

    2. *Playworld* by Adam Ross is a recent novel about a privileged kid in Manhattan during the early ‘80s whose life is kinda crazy

    3. I Love New York by Lindsey Kelk

      The Heiresses by Sara Shepard

      Everybody Rise by Stephanie Clifford

Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger

The Houseimad Series by Freida McFadden
