I (24F) was an avid reader as a child, but as an adult I have been reading infrequently. I think getting a cellphone at 15 is probably when my reading frequency plummeted, as I began resorting to "easier" but also less satisfying forms of entertainment, such as YouTube, netflix and later reddit.

As a child I enjoyed Harry Potter and the Hunger Games thoroughly (I still do and reread them often). I also enjoyed Jacqueline Wilson and Eva Ibbotson books. Additional books I remember enjoying include the Spud series (John van de ruit) and The Book Thief (markus zusack). There are very likely several other books I enjoyed, but I can't recall them.

Books that I've read as an adult that come to mind and that I've enjoyed include: Never let me go (kazuo ishiguro), mornings in jenin (susan abulhawa) and half of a yellow sun (chimamanda ngozi adichie). I've also enjoyed simple YA lighthearted reads now and then, such as 'A good girls guide to murder'.

I'm guessing I would enjoy books about social issues, historical fiction, fantasy, mystery, humour, and even some light romance.
Please suggest me books to help me get into reading again.

    1. If you like SciFi, you need to read the Jurassic Park book by Michael Crichton. I know it sounds cliche, but the book is dark and has horror that wasn’t included in the movies since it would have been too graphic at the time of filming. Amazing read.
