Despite my suggestion of waiting to read the second half of the series, she has determinedly persevered with them. Now she is almost done with book 7. I would like to get her some books for Christmas that are exciting but not so emotionally demanding. She takes character deaths hard.
She’s really loving the diary of a wimpy kid books that she’s reading for school.
She’s rereading Impossible creatures by Katherine Rundell, but this is also an emotional book without a happy ending.
Contemporary gems would be ideal as we have already done the usual classics like Narnia and the hobbit.
She likes funny books, and I’m particularly fond of hearing her giggling quietly while reading.
