Looking for Dynastic Chinese fiction or magical realism
NOT looking for high fantasy; I am okay with gods acting as characters, but do not want a series with its own magic system.
I recently started The Poppy War and it's not what I was hoping for, dnf. I like novels along the lines of Heaven Official's Blessing, but would prefer something more mundane. I am not necessarily looking for romance novels like Heaven Official's Blessing, I am more interested in the political and cultural world building (though some romance is okay!).
