Hi!
So I’m wanting to buy my niece a few books for Christmas – she isn’t sure what to read, but she likes: dystopian and fantasy genres.
It also has to be appropriate for a 14 year old (a young 14 year old)
Anyone have any recommendations?

Something that’s both dystopian and fantasy I really like is the Scholomance series by Naomi Novik, there is sex though in the second two books, I would have read it at 14 but it’s up to you.
For any age I love the Nevermoor series by Jessica Townsend
I really got into dystopian books when I was about that age. One I read right around then was Feed by M.T Anderson. It’s sort of a futuristic one where everyone is dialed into the feed they get from their brain implant. It’s from 2002 but I feel like it may be increasingly relevant with the way tech is going. There are mature scenes though, you may want to look into the trigger warnings and decide if it’s something you should wait on.
I also really liked Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, and the Uglies series (the original 4 books).
